Tax Forms and Information

Almost all United States IRS forms and publications are readily available at http://www.irs.gov/ and North Carolina forms and instructions at http://www.dor.state.nc.us/forms/.

The Wilson County Public Library provides tax forms and instructions as a public service. Every branch has some of the basic tax forms and instructions from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

If the form you need is not in stock, the Main library in Wilson has a notebook of reproducible Federal tax forms which can be photocopied. In addition, the library has Internet and CD-Rom access to many other federal and state forms.

Library staff are not authorized to provide tax assistance or specialized information to taxpayers. Each year before the April 15th filing deadline, volunteers are available at the Wilson County Senior Center, (252) 206-4055, and Wilson County Dept. of Social Services, (252) 206-4000. Call to obtain exact times and schedules.

American Bar Association.  This Section of Taxation portion of the ABA's site provides links to federal and state tax court cases, the federal tax code and regulations, each of the 50 states' department of revenue, and more.

Federal and State Tax Forms.  Maintained by the State University of West Georgia, this site provides access to U.S. federal and state tax forms and information.

IRS Tax Information and Forms.  This official site provides access to federal tax information, downloading of forms, and electronic filing.

North Carolina Department of Revenue.  Provides NC tax information, forms, and publications, information on electronic filing, etc.  For forms, click on "Tax Forms and Publications."

Tax Prophet.     This site, sponsored and maintained by a tax attorney, offers tax classes, a section on frequently asked questions (FAQs) about taxes, information on common tax and trust scams, and more.

Tax World.   This site provides tax information from state, federal, and international tax authorities.  In addition to access to tax forms and the like, it also provides information on tax policy, tax history, and links to tax databases around the world.
